So how easy is it to be a Mason?
The Grand Lodge of Washington now puts on one day classes to initiate, pass and raise men of good character from time to time around the state. In addition, Warren G. Harding has streamlined its' degree program so that candidates can move through the program in weeks instead of months. At Warren G. Harding we will go the extra mile to help you attain your objectives!
Our proficiencies are very quick. You can have a degree a week if we can arrange the teams. It is only limited by our schedule. If you've never been a Mason - If you've never petitioned a lodge before there are a number of steps you must take "of your own free will and accord". 1. Ask a Mason for a petition. If you do not know a Mason, contact the Lodge Secretary at Warren G. Harding and he will help you. 2. Fill out a petition and include a check for your degree fees. (These fees vary from Lodge to Lodge. At Warren G., they are graduated depending upon your age at the time of your Entered Apprentice Degree.) 3. At the Lodge's next Stated Meeting (the first Thursday of the Month in Warren G. Harding's case), your petition will be read and a committee of three will be assigned to get to know you. They will report back to the lodge at the next Stated Meeting and, if all goes well, you will be elected to membership. 4. The Secretary will notify you of your election (or rejection) and the date of your degree(s). If you've received one or more Degrees in the past. If you've received your Entered Apprentice Degree in the past, but for one reason or another, did not complete the other one or two, you will have to talk to a Lodge Secretary. Click here for ours. Each Jurisdiction has rules governing men who haven't completed their degrees. When you contact the Secretary, have an idea of the year you were initiated and the Lodge, City and State. In some cases, you can finish your degrees with us and become a Master Mason through the one-day class method. Return to WGH Home |
