December 2008
Hello all, be sure to visit the new page
regarding the Christmas Party! Keep
your calendars open. Also, keep checking back as the menu will
be posted here shortly!
Master's Message
One of the major tenets of Masonry is; “making good men better”.
I have been looking at this statement for years without being able
to grasp how to go about even beginning to make inroads into this
goal. In the past month, I have had an important lesson that to me
highlights how we as a lodge can make progress on “making good men
better”. At our last stated WB Ken Wilson shared a reading he had
found on the Cable Tow, this stimulated a great deal of discussion
at refreshment after lodge. Then WB Paul Casson read a piece about
the orientation of masonic jewelry in particular the Master Mason’s
ring after our last 3rd degree, which again started
numerous conversations.
Given the level of interest
these two incidents generated, I would ask each of you to share any
material that you have that you feel would be of interest to our
brethren. While we may not be able to read each piece during lodge,
we can certainly post them on our website, circulate them via email
and our newsletter.
By vote of our brethren our
annual installation has been moved to our stated meeting on the 4th
of December, please make an extra effort to attend! Not only will
we be installing officers but welcoming Brother Skip Nielsen back
from his deployment to Afghanistan! Dinner will be served at
6:30pm, make sure you update your calendar, I look forward to the
lodge room over flowing…

Change in Dues
At the June Stated Meeting we voted to raise
the fees for the degrees to a flat $300.00 regardless of age and
also raised the yearly dues to $100.00 per year. Seems gas
and my waist line aren't the only things going up.
In most cases, the raise in dues makes life
membership much more attractive for most of you.
If you are between the ages of:
18 thru 35 your one time fee..$450.00
36 thru 45 ........................... 400.00
46 thru 55 ........................... 300.00
56 thru 65 ........................... 250.00
66 and over ........................$200.00
If you need help in spreading out the payments,
let Ken know. We have ways!
Fraternally,
Chris Gunnell
